The first line of my college application essay was “I love tunafish.” But it wasn’t until five years later, while attending graduate school in Paris, that a future in food writing ever crossed my mind.

Since then, I've covered restaurants, artisans, food culture and culinary travel for numerous publications—most notably, Life & Thyme. Along the way, I’ve also developed dynamic content marketing and brand creative campaigns for clients including Chef Daniel Boulud - The Dinex Group, W&P, La Marzocco, the Institute for Culinary Education, RESY, La Colombe, KitchenAid, Condé Nast’s Food Innovation Group and others.

In 2015, I co-founded a Denver-based creative agency—Cognoscenti Creative—with my sister, Lauren DeFilippo. Building on 10+ years of experience in writing, marketing, brand strategy, graphic design and photography, our client list has grown to include both household names and scrappy startups.

Off-hours, I’m an avid cook—and have even contributed recipes to the publication Honest Cooking. (You won’t regret trying my homemade friselle.)
